Event information
Very excited to be back at New River Studios for a night of groovy, wonky, and loud as all hell post punk and post hardcore noise!
On an absolutely stacked bill we have:
OBJECTIONS
Leeds-based post-punk trio Objections are a melody-riddled, bass-heavy, rhythmically spacious, killer group consisting of Joe O’Sullivan (guitar), Neil Turpin (drums) and Claire Adams (vocals/ bass). Their former bands include the likes of Bilge Pump. Beards & Nape Neck. Their debut album - Optimistic Sizing" released on Wrong Speed Records in April 2024 - is "a smart, noisy and cerebral album and a thoroughly thrilling debut. Suffice to say, if you like your post-punk abstract, arty and awesome then you’re in for quite the ride".
RITUAL ERROR
Furious post-hardcore/noise trio from London, melding the razor-wire sharpness of the Minutemen, the fury of early 90’s San Diego post-hardcore, and the metronomic noise-rock of the mid 90s. Their incendiary live show has earned them slots at Manchester Punk Festival, Decolonise Festival and chief support for legendary McClusky earlier this year at The Lexington. Debut album Dial in the Ghost came out in November 2024 on TNS Records.
JK HISTORIAN
Raging politi-punks projecting rich noise tapestries with a mathy ambience - charged with social commentary and surrealism. Featuring veterans of bands Earthsea and Three Colours, the band take sonic influence from the likes of At the Drive-In, Million Dead and Refused.
SINEWS
Oxford-based post hardcore rockers Sinews channel the influence of 90s post hardcore bands like Fugazi, Drive Like Jehu, and Helmet through the lens of the adventurous indie rock of Pixies, Pavement, and Modest Mouse to create a racket that is all their own.
FYI this show is all ages with under 18s accompanied by an adult, and the venue is wheelchair accessible. If you'd liek to attend but can;t afford it email us at divineschism@gmail.com - no one will be turned away.
