Event information
Hailing from Bristol, progressive post-rock band MAEBE have made waves across the UK instrumental scene with their second album, Rebirth. Relive. Repeat., released in July 2023 and recently showcased to a wider audience at ArcTanGent Festival in August 2024.
What started as the solo project of guitarist Michael Astley-Brown developed into a full live band, with a devastating triple-guitar attack, gnarly bass grooves and bombastic drums.
This live lineup has gigged alongside some of modern music’s most exciting alternative acts, including Alpha Male Tea Party, Poly-Math, Orchards, Standards, L.O.E., FORT, a-tota-so, Bicurious, Mountain Caller and many more. The band deliver a highly dynamic, heavily layered approach to instrumental rock that spans prog, math and post-rock and even shred, all delivered with a post-hardcore energy.
CABIRIA are an instrumental trio based in London, making music that straddles the boundaries of post metal, prog and fusion. Featuring ultra-tight performances and inventive uses of effects, there’s a sense of honesty at its core which lends an introspective backdrop to all of their compositions. Their recently released album "How Long's The Drive?" (Drongo Records, 2024) was met with acclaim and supported by a number of successful and well attended launch shows throughout London and the South-East.
“Blending elements of post-rock and prog-metal with brooding atmospherics and fragile ambiance; Russian Circles meets Rush at their noisiest amidst cinematic, post-rock soundscapes” – PROG Magazine
KANOO is an indie-prog trio known for crafting intricate rhythms, lush melodies, and experimental textures. Drawing inspiration from artists like Tortoise, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, and Bill Frisell, their music blends avant-garde exploration with a carefree rock spirit.
Sandy (guitar) met Ed (drums) at a local football league and asked if he wanted to start a band. At least, he thought he did. In fact, Ed has never played football in his life, and Sandy was actually talking to someone else. Despite the initial mistaken identity, they persevered with the band anyway, with Jon joining them on bass. Their most recent EP is named Iterate.
THE FIDDLER’S ELBOW in Camden is a largely standing venue, but some seating is available on a first-come/first served basis. The event aims to be responsive to needs of attendees with disability issues; If you require a reserved seat, please let the organisers know.
PLEASE SUPPORT THE VENUE by buying drinks from the bar. If the bar takings are insufficient, they will have no option but to increase their hire charge, which will result in higher ticket prices, and may reduce the possibility for smaller prog bands to play. So please buy an extra drink - alcoholic or not!
