Cabaret At The Trades With Son of a Tutu and Guests

As part of Independent Venue Week, we want to celebrate and encourage diversity in entertainment spaces, so, join us for a night of cabaret to brighten up your January. We can't wait to bring back the award winning activist and drag artist, Son of a Tutu, who will be hosting the night and bringing along some of our favourite artists to the Trades Hall stage.

Son of a Tutu:

Son of a Tutu’ (He/She/They) is an award winning actor (Iris Prize 2023), award-winning drag artist, activist, and speaker. The 2011 winner of ‘Drag Idol UK’ since which they have performed/spoken across the UK and Europe in various cabaret venues and settings, films, pantos, at festivals (Pride and others) and, for small, medium, and multinational corporations. They have also appeared at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and hosted online events for Amnesty International, ParaPride as well as hosting Bingo on Victoria Beckham’s Instagram account.

As featured on ‘BBC stories’ Tutu was the face of Primark’s national Pride campaign (2019). They also conceived and directed the #YouCanDoBetter (microaggressions) viral video in the wake of the Black Lives Matter uprisings of 2020 and, were featured as one of the subjects in Dan Jones’s book ‘50 Drag Queens Who Changed the World’. They also can be seen in “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie” movie, “Lemon” a short film currently streaming on All4 also, played “Mother Nature” in Acid’s Reign” at the 2023 Vaults Festival. They were also one of the featured beauties in the “Permissible Beauties” installation at Hampton Court Palace film the film element of which is currently showing at film festivals around the world as well as part of the ‘cult of Beauty’ exhibition currently on at the “Wellcome Collection” in London.

Jamie Fuxx:

Jamie Fuxx is a singing-dancing-cheeky heart throb that’ll grab the attention of your hot date (be warned). He’s hot, he’s ready, are you?! Since competing in the final of Man Up 2021, Jamie Fuxx has gone on to perform all over London, in their fav queer venues, Drag Fest Ireland and Mighty Hoopla to name a few. His creative mixes, live vocals and seductive dance moves always leave audiences wanting more… ‘Every time you take that breath, you think of Jamie Fuxx’ @jamiefuxx

Mark T Cox:

After mild childhood fame as the organ player in his local church in Co. Clare, Mark T Cox headed for Dublin to begin his cabaret career, soon landing a weekly residency in The George, Ireland’s oldest queer venue, alongside drag legend Veda Lady.

Since moving to London 10 years ago, Mark now performs weekly across the East and West Ends, with current residencies at The Divine, The CellarDoor, plus appearances at the RVT, The Glory (RIP) and Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club - as well as internationally across Europe and Japan.



Mark has recently become an unofficial Irish ambassador in London, with regular collaborations with The London Irish Centre, Irish in Britain, and The Irish Embassy in London - promoting the voice and stories of Queer Irish immigrants in the UK through comedy and cabaret.

Scarlett Harlett:
Scarlett Harlett, also known as the Cockney Princess, is a London-born drag cabaret artist best known for appearing on the 3rd season of the hit BBC show RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. She is a live singer, entertainer, actor, influencer and tv personality, having garnered a large following during her almost decade long career.
