Event information
The Oxted Sessions is delighted to welcome Luke Jackson this April, one of the most exciting and distinctive artists to emerge on the UK scene in recent years.
"Blessed with one of those soulful, heaven-sent voices that soars with emotion or plunges into brooding intensity" – The Musician Magazine
"He is one of the most distinctive voices, both literally and figuratively, on the contemporary folk scene" – Folk Radio UK
"Simply stunning, a top drawer vocalist and musician" - FATEA
Blessed with a distinctive, bluesy, soulful voice, UK based singer-songwriter Luke Jackson has developed an enviable reputation for himself in the Roots, Acoustic, Folk & Americana circuits by virtue of his acclaimed recordings and dynamic live performances.
Since his debut album was released in 2012, Luke has released seven records, the most recent being 2024's highly regarded "Bloom".
Luke has opened for Jools Holland (including at the Royal Albert Hall) as well as Richard Thompson (Fairport Convention), as well as touring his own headline show relentlessly across the UK, Europe and the USA.
Praise for "Bloom"
"Could arguably be lifted from the songbooks of Paul Simon, Richard Hawley or John Martyn." - At The Barrier
"To say that the songs show a greater maturity could be dismissive of his earlier work, which has always been interesting and never short of quality, but there is a new depth to both his material and delivery that make the half decade of waiting worthwhile." Folk North West
"Bloom has been well worth the wait – twice though and I was hooked. I can’t recommended it highly enough." Folking
ROB.GREEN is an alt-soul/pop artist from Nottingham who draws from the Soul, Indie, Blues, Rock and Gospel music he was raised on to inspire the music he makes. An irrepressible and captivating live performer Rob has opened Arena shows for internationally acclaimed soul and pop acts, such as Earth Wind & Fire, Daniel Bedingfield, Roachford and punk legend Tom Robinson. Rob’s visual EP - MANHOOD - released November 2023 explores his experiences with toxic masculinity and his life growing up as mixed-race and gay in his hometown.
Named a 2024 Ivor Novello In the Making Artist; his upcoming album project with Ivor Novello-winning producer Cassell the Beatmaker (who produced Plan B’s The Defamation of Strickland Banks) really unleashes his soulful and rock vocal with raw Alternative Soul/Funk, straight from the heart. The first single JUNGLE CHILD is about standing firm in who you are and accompanies his first 7 date, self booked, UK tour of the same name in March/April 2025.
