Red Deer Club presents in association with Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival:
Belinda O’Hooley is an exceptionally gifted pianist, singer, song writer and composer and has become
renowned for her highly individual, emotional, yet sensitive musicality. She is half of four time BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Best Duo nominees O’Hooley & Tidow alongside her wife Heidi Tidow; together described by The Guardian as ‘exceptional songwriters.’ Their song ‘Gentleman Jack’ features as the closing theme song for Sally Wainwright’s latest BBC/HBO drama series Gentleman Jack. Her inventive, minimalist, sometimes flamboyant accompanying of folk luminaries includes Rufus Wainwright, Nic Jones, Jackie Oates and the Mercury nominated; Rachel Unthank and The Winterset.
Belinda is also known for her
role as DCS Liz Thornton in the final series of BAFTA winning drama ‘Happy Valley’.
Her album ‘Inversions’ encapsulates the essence of an artist truly at one with her instrument.

The Midges
Hailing from Belfast and Leicester, musical duo, The Midges first crossed paths in a quaint village in the Colne Valley. Together, Matt Regan and Chris Ruffoni, weave a sonic tapestry that blends folk melodies, electronic beats, soaring cello, and hypnotic guitars into songs that delve deep into the human experience.
Recognised for their distinct and uncompromising artistry, The Midges are confidently carving out their musical identity since forming in 2023. Their debut album, ‘Not Knowing The Words’, showcased their minimalist, direct songwriting style. Now, with their second album, ‘On One’, they unleash a more expansive, emotional, and intense sound to explore the multiple meanings of losing oneself.
Self-produced in their home studios, The Midges capture the bittersweet, and sometimes spiritual, connection to nature and community. This fervent dedication led to their signing with Red Deer Club Recordings in 2025.
‘On One’ will be released on 27 March 2025.
