Event information
Jade MaCrae is the daughter of noted jazz and fusion keyboardist Dave MaCrae (Gill Evans, Chet Baker, etc) and singer Joy Yates, who worked with the likes of Gladys Knight, Dusty Springfield, and Van Morrison, among others.
Born in London, Jade relocated to Australia at an early age where, after studying piano/violin at Sydney Conservatorium of Music she developed a multi award-winning career attaining top 40 hits with 'So Hot Right Now' and 'Superstar'. This versatile, elite artist was an in-demand 'voice for hire' on the multi genre session scenes, sang the Australian anthem at a FIFA World Cup match, appeared on various TV shows, and toured with the theatre production 'Broad'. She has shared the stage with the likes of James Brown, Ray Charles, and John Legend.
In 2020 Jade refocused on her own songwriting, releasing the album 'Handle Me With Care'. 'The perfect comeback record' according to The Guardian, demonstrating her love of 'classic' soul and old school r&b leanings. This has now been followed up with the recent release of 'IN MY VEINS' – an album featuring guitar luminaries as US giants Kirk Fletcher and Joe Bonamassa.
Now resident in the USA, Jade has had a heavy international touring schedule for the past decade as a full-time member of Joe Bonamassa's band. We are delighted to announce that she is finally finding time to reconnect with her UK and European roots as an artist in her own right. On this show, Jade will be accompanied by Stevie Watts (Steve Winwood, Jack Bruce, PP Arnold etc ) on keys.
