Join us for an afternoon in the intimate settings of Green Note for ‘Womenfolk’ featuring Once a Fig, Heathling and Fran Barrett & Jess Collins, three outstanding and rising names on the local folk scene
Once a Fig immerse themselves in myriad musical soundscapes, intertwining traditional folk melodies with original compositions and improvisations. Their spiralling arrangements with spinning, trance-like melodies morph into electrifying groove-based tunes, inviting the audience on a musical journey.

New duo Heathling are Nu folk musician Anna McLuckie and improvising flautist Gail Tasker who experiment by pairing traditional music with improvisation, old tunes with new approaches, and slow airs with fast-paced jigs.

Fran Barrett and Jess Collins are a new duo born from the London folk scene. Barrett (guitar fiddle and voice) and Collins (fiddle, voice and feet) create a lively and dynamic sound that takes you on a winding journey through the Celtic tradition, expect an outstanding range of traditional songs and tunes from this emerging duo
