Event information
The Curst Sons weave an idiosyncratic course between various traditional American music genres. Too Bluesy for Americana, too Country for Blues, too rock for the folkies and too smart for Cow Punk, their witty original compositions are hard to define as anything but themselves!
Since 1998 they have released seven studio albums, one 10” vinyl EP, a live digital EP and recently two singles taken from the album 'New Signs and Old Visions', released in August 2024. People said about 'New Signs and Old Visions':-
"Absolutely brilliant, an absolute belter! Do anything that you can do to see The Curst Sons – do it." ~ Pete Jones, Radio Reverb
"They are well aware of “old weird Americana” – I mean what else do you expect from a song called “The Love Song of the Cuttlefish”? Probably not the kind of skiffle/rockabilly hybrid with strange harmony vocals that you get here." ~ Blues Matters
"It’s all very danceable, and it doesn’t take much imagination to see a tent full of six-to-sixty-year-olds all getting down to the band's infectious groove. The playing is loose in a way that only experienced and skilful musicians can make it. A fine addition to the UK Americana canon." ~ R&;R
