Exceptionally talented brothers, Joe and Will Sartin are a skilful, innovative and assured acoustic duo bursting on to the folk scene. With Joe’s sublime voice and guitar playing and Will’s dexterous mandolin, they beautifully and skilfully express the music-making and folk tradition that run through the very core of their family. Fresh interpretations of traditional music and their own original tunes and songs.
Opening the evening will be Guinea Lane Saxophone quartet. They play an idiosyncratic and eclectic mix of music including folk, classical and jazz. In the last few years they have followed the “road less travelled” and focussed on folk music of the British Isles. Working closely with composers and arrangers, they have built a repertoire of wholly original pieces, avoiding the standard numbers which can be a little tired.
