Event information
We're transforming the iconic Cowley Workers Social Club, Oxford this April 5th with our anachronistic and kitsch living room theatre set and equally anarchic hosting for one unforgettable day and night of celebrating everything that 'Home' means through:
Live original music from bands and individuals, comedy, cabaret, spoken word performances, as well as whatever YOU want to perform...
Home from Home will be opening its doors, heart, arms, even legs (wink) AND its stage for not one, but TWO Open-Stage segments during the event to batter down the barrier between 'punter' and 'performer'!
So bring your instruments, your tall tales, party-tricks, poetry, and unique talents.
As well as workshops, interactive, exhibited, and collaborative art, infamous "fancy" dress chest - As with all Home from Home events; DRESS TO EXPRESS YOURSELF ❤
Confirmed acts include The Balkan Wanderers, No Worries If Not and Jamie Mykaela & Friends, with more to be announced!
A delicious Home from Home Thai inspired feast shall be served at 6.30pm and is available as an optional extra.
Sarada of Shakti Kitchen shall be serving:
- Massaman curry - mildly spicy, peanutty and coconutty
- Laab - A classic northern style spicy salad, vegan version with mushrooms and tofu….not like any salad you’ve had before!
- Som tam….one of the most popular dishes in Thailand, a classic spicy salad of green papaya and other veggies with a zingy dressing
- An aromatic corn fritter
- Thai jasmine rice
