Event information

From an early age all Jeff wanted to do was be either a footballer or a musician. He tried the drums, rhythm guitar and keyboards, but as soon as he picked up the bass guitar, he knew that he preferred the vibe and rhythm of the lower range. After leaving school, and with some lucky breaks, he cut his teeth on rock music, working his way up from roadie to bass player, in bands such as local London based Rock and Blues legends Sam Apple Pie, SALT and then the infamous Dumpy’s Rusty Nuts, enjoying major UK tours with The Blues Band.

During the era of New Wave British Heavy Metal, the sought after Jeff spent time with Wildfire, and toured extensively with Statetrooper, with whom he recorded 4 albums. His rock style vocals and varied style of bass playing have given rise to a varied career collaborating along the way with many different artists: Alan Silson (original Smokie), John Lawton (Uriah Heap), Bernie Marsden (ex Whitesnake), John Coghlan (Ex Status Quo) and recording with Ian Gillan of Deep Purple fame. His big break came when he joined 70’s Glam Rock Band The Sweet, with whom he remained for 16 years, during which time he took another progressive leap forward becoming the Band’s front man and lead vocalist.

Jeff’s post-Sweet career has embraced different genres of music which echoes his playing versatility. In 2005 he joined The Tremeloes as bass playing lead singer and following the retirement and sad demise of some of the original members, now Tours a new line-up under the name The Trems. Also in 2005 Jeff founded The Original Jukebox Heroes, harping back to the 1970’s and bringing together well known and long serving members of glam rock superbands, to deliver an authentic show performing Seventies classic anthems of Glitter, Glam and platform boots. Both Bands are sought after and regularly booked both in the UK and in Europe where they command a considerable following of loyal fans.

As if that’s not enough, Jeff is also bass player with Cats in Space, a Band founded in 2015 which performs its own original classic rock material and which has toured the arena, festival and theatre circuit in the UK.

Jeff has an infectious charismatic personality and enjoys interaction with the audience both on and off stage. He’s cultivated a devoted and loyal following. He’s an accomplished player and versatile vocalist with an outstanding range. His delivery is both powerful and sensitive at the same time. However, Jeff is not only a singer; he’s a songwriter too, in 2015 having released an album of his own cathartic life songs “23 years”.
