Event information
On Friday February 14th we have a Valentines night special at Jamboree under the sheer romantic spell of Whiskey Moon Face, tonight ft. Louisa Jones with special guests Dave Tunstall and Duncan Menzies - “The result of a thousand drunken nights, countless dreamy days, and years of musical adventuring, taking you on a voyage into a bohemian underworld which you never knew existed.” – (Theo Bard) Support comes from the ace songwriter and activist Q-BRA, enchanting us with timeless love songs from Turkey and beyond.
Both acts will play two sets each along the course of the night.
Jamboree food option: Our ‘Arepatoire’ kitchen is open from 6pm serving a delicious mix of Italian/Colombian food for you to enjoy a pre-gig Valentines meal/snack if you wish!
Born into a puddle of whiskey beneath a stark winter moon and raised by cold winds, schooled in the warming spirits and hungry for more, Whiskey Moon Face manage a natural, graceful sound built from many ports.? Innovative and improvisational with stark originality, Louisa Jones' troupe of underground musicians play with a virtuosity you could never expect. Theirs are songs which speak of the unspeakable, with understated humour, captivating storytelling and a transcendent spirituality. Tonight Louisa is joined in the band by Dave Tunstall on double bass and Duncan Menzies on violin.
"Their shows are life-affirming, with make-you-grin dance music mixed in with the poignant ballads" - (From London Jazz News)
