Event information
Brighton’s best / only music, comedy, and musical comedy night returns to The Folklore Rooms, the city’s loveliest venue.
As always, we have a brilliant and very strange combination of alternative musical and comedy acts for you.
And this show is on a FRIDAY, so you have no excuse.
THE COMEDY
Lorna Rose Treen is a very silly character comedian who we all think is brilliant, and so will you.
“Hysterically weird character comedy” - Time Out
Charlie Vero Martin is one of our favourite character comedians in the world. A charming and warm performer, a mega improviser, and an all-round good egg, we’re delighted to have finally lured her down.
“A truly gifted performer” - The Wee Review.
Holly Spillar is an “enthralling” and “uniquely hilarious” talent from the sleepy town of Bournemouth. She does jokes, she does songs. You will love her or your money back.*
“A one-of-a-kind talent” - LMAOnaise
Your host and general mistress of ceremonies is Brighton legend Leslie Bloom! Often seen complaining about her son @extratoppingcomedy, Leslie will charm all with her silliness or your money back. **
THE MUSIC
Queen Mab is the musical alter ego of Hattie Snooks, singer / songwriter / theatre maker and cabaret queen. Her songs are beautifully crafted things, and we can’t wait to hear them in the beautiful surrounds of the folklore rooms.
The Highchurches are an indie/folk/country band who formed at The Folklore Rooms in 2024. This is their last gig before the summer, as @cornishcalzone needs to focus on prepping for her @brightonfringe show (go and see her, she’s great).
The Highchurches have written at least 4.5 new songs and will probably play at least two of them.
Tickets are in the bio - including early bird discounted ones; if you need a free ticket for whatever reason, get in touch.
Unfortunately TFR is not yet an accessible venue, with some fairly tricky Victorian stairs.
* Please don’t ask for your money back, we’re trying to pay some nice talented acts here.
** We’ve been through this.
