Event information
Lisa is the author and photographer of several award-winning books about the sea, beachcombing and mudlarking. Her memoir, 'Rag and Bone', won the Royal Society of Literature Giles St Aubyn Award for Non-fiction. Inspired by growing up on eroding cliffs on the Isle of Sheppey, Lisa's latest book is Lost to the Sea: A Journey Round the Edges of Britain and Ireland. 'Just off our shores lies a ghost coastline, populated with fishing villages and legendary pubs, medieval churches, submerged forests and prehistoric settlements.' In Bude, Lisa will give an illustrated talk about her search for traces of these lost lands, both on and offshore.
‘Wondrous, elegant and haunting' Philip Hoare
‘Beautiful . . . Woollett paints vividly the day-to-day lives of past peoples’
Times Literary Supplement
‘An immersive and lyrically personal journey through deep-time and modern tides’ Raynor Winn (Bude Lit Fest Patron)
