We are delighted to welcome the oustanding Scottish singer songwriter Brownbear, aka Matthew Hickman, to 50rpm for the first time. We have been long time admirers of this exceptional songwriter.

The award winning Ayrshire singer songwriter wears his heart on his sleeve. Brownbear's lyrics delve deep into his personal struggles and emotions, that resonate hard and long, seeing him championed on Radio 1, Radio2, Radio Scotland, Radio X and others.
It is no surprise that he has worked with the likes of The Libertines, Paolo Nutini & Michael Kiwanuka, building a reputation for a performer who is both enegmatic and engaging.
Brownbear is indie-soul award winning songwriter, Matthew Hickman. Following the release his debut album What Is Home? he toured across the UK & Europe. His latest album Demons is a beautiful collection of tracks with heartfelt meaning behind every lyric, delivered with incredible emotion and is jam packed with melodies that are sure to be stuck in your head for weeks. The album dropped in March of 2023 to widespread acclaim, hitting the Scottish Official Album Chart Top 10 & being longlisted for Scottish Album of the Year.
Brownbear performed a sold-out at St Lukes in Glasgow as part of this years Celtic Connections.
