Michael Roberts has been performing, rewriting and honing his one-man show “Hollywood Screams” on and off… for decades! It is the tale of a misspent youth in the fleapit cinemas of Walthamstow, Tottenham and beyond. And it features a cast of thousands! … Well ok, maybe not thousands, but Michael will bring to life stars of the screen such as Mae West, Groucho Marx, Marlon Brando, Joan Crawford and many more. There are hilarious behind-the-scenes stories about the Hollywood Studios and their stars. Michael will also reveal what some of those famous lines might have sounded like had first choice Ronald Regan been cast in Bogart’s place in “Casablanca”! But most of all Michael explores with warmth and humour how the Golden Age of Hollywood, through all its glamour and glitz, could inspire a young boy from Tottenham to become an actor and lifelong lover of film.
