Event information
Somewhere Over England are back. Not just at the Chapel but, having been one of Bath’s most successful bands are reaching new audiences all over the world - 125,000 streams of their wonderful songs last month alone!
Their intelligently crafted, narratively based indie folk sound, fused with deliciously catchy melodies and augmented by sumptuous vocal harmonies is reminiscent of the more reflective sounding guitar bands of the 90s. Along with Tears For Fears and The Korgis SOE emerged from the Bath local music scene in the 1980s - probably the greatest period for popular music in the city.
One of the most popular bands in Bath at the time, Somewhere Over England finally gained recognition and chart success in 1991 not in the UK but in Spain with their huge melodic summer epic ‘If I Ever Fail in Love‘ finally reaching the No 1 slot in September of that year and remaining one of the most iconic tracks from that unique era.
Supported by the Velo Band - playing unimaginably intense and beautifully crafted songs the Velo Band - having recently supported Steve Craddock of Ocean Colour Scene - really are a must see.
