Event information
Join us for a wonderful evening of dancing at the next installment of our ceilidh series in the magnificent St John's Waterloo... with the amazing Sheffield-based band Hekety!
www.hekety.co.uk
The Hekety sound is a fusion of English tradition with a wide range of influences (rock, kletzmer, jazz, baroque… you name it), combining seamlessly to make an eminently danceable whole. Featuring strong melodies, rich harmonies and intricately woven improvisation from melodeon, fiddle and clarinet, alongside chunky, funky, driving rhythms from guitar, cittern and bass. Having firmly established themselves as festival favourites over the past decade, Hekety continue to add fresh ideas to the melting pot!
They are joined by the superb Sheena Masson to call the dances - one of the country's leading ceilidh dance callers.
***AND*** Special guests to be announced
This is a fun and inclusive evening of music and dancing. No experience necessary - all the dances are carefully explained. Come with friends or by yourself - it's a great way to meet new people. Bar provided.
