Event information
Remodelling Tavistock began in the early 19th century under the instruction of the Dukes of Bedford.
Throughout the coming Victorian era architects of international, national and local acclaim were commissioned to design civic buildings, schools, housing, public buildings and churches creating a diverse, and fashionable range of styles which create the character of the town.
This 90 minute, level walk, with Sue Spackman, will visit their buildings, explain their design approach and introduce the architects as personalities.
Walk commences at 2pm from the Visitor Information Centre in Guildhall Square
