Buzzcocks Vs Ramones – did Manchester’s punk rock Beatles ever share a stage with New York’s Paul McCartney inspired kings of ramalama? We think not, although we do seem to have stumbled upon a Fab Four connection, further emphasised by the fact one of Buzzkocks is called Paul Macca…

So, the Special K variant of the band, are with us tonight to pay fabulous homage to Pete Shelley and co’s love lorn, libidinal, romantic razor sharp punk pop. They really did have the tuneful pop flair of them mop tops from the previous decade too.

What a remarkable run of albums and singles they gifted us in the late 1970s. And what a stunning job of tribute Buzzkocks do. Peerless interpretations of all those kicking tunes, from Ever Fallen In Love to Moving Away From The Pulsebeat, What Do I Get to Noise Annoys. Absolutely superb, you won’t be disappointed Buzzers fans.

The Ramoanz – likewise Dah Bruddas are expressed with loving attention to detail by these chaps. All the big choons, churned out with a cheery 1234 buzzsaw delivery just as you’d hope.

The original Ramones may all be gone, but The Ramoanz keep their fantastic flame well and truly lit.
