The Eggstravaganza
A pre-Easter treat! Chris & Ed are back in the Kitchen, and cooking up another night of mischief and mayhem.
Be prepared to have your laughter zones tickled and tantalised as they return to Budleigh Salterton after a sell out show before Christmas.
Expect cracking gags, egg-celent odes and exhausting Easter-themed puns in this collaboration between Budleigh’s Word Kitchen and Exeter’s Spork! Poetry. Ed and Chris will be joined by special guest Peter Farrie. Peter is a songwriter and performer based in Exeter with an MA in Songwriting from ICMP London. He writes quirky, funny and sometimes heartfelt songs and has recently headlined at Taking the Mic at Exeter Phoenix and Word Stir! in Totnes.
“Peter Farrie’s songs and performance style are a gentle quirky joy, delicately funny, super moving and deeply engaging. I could watch him for hours….but not in a creepy way.” - Ceri Baker, Bard of Exeter
EASTER THEMED LIMERICK COMP
Get involved! Get those words flowing before the night, bring your masterpiece along and nine lucky limericks will be chosen at random to be shared by their authors at the mic. An audience vote will decide the top three limericks who will go head-to-head (or toe-to-toe) in our post interval grand final when they will share a limerick they’ve written in the break - with big chocolatey prizes up for grabs!!
Food and drink will be available to buy on the night from Brook Kitchen's delicious menu. The show will be in two halves with an interval in the middle so that people can eat and enjoy their drinks during the break.
Edward Tripp is an award-winning stand-up poet, with a penchant for all things dark and surreal. A frequent performer on comedy and poetry stages alike, he’s taken his work around the UK from A Press of Suspects to Milk Poetry, to WOMAD Festival, and Just the Tonic at the Edinburgh Fringe. Whether screaming about spatulas or soliloquising about Uncle Connor “who isn’t in the IRA,” Ed’s an always hilarious, prop-heavy and provocative performer.
"A roaring fire of absurd wit" - Corr Blimey
Chris White is a performer, poet and the soggiest bottom in all Exeter. The founder of Spork! Poetry, he’s a slam winning poet who frequently performs his work at nights and festivals from Shambala to Tongue Fu. He was the first Riddler in Residence at Exeter Cathedral, has performed on buses and boats, and likes writing silly words about queerness, identity and ducks.
“a knack for humour that can make you sigh in embarrassment, while also crying with laughter.”
