Event information

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

Princes Risborough Town Council is proud to welcome you to its third International Women’s Day event at the Brushwood Suite on Thursday 6 March 2025. Join us for an informal evening of celebration, inspiration, and connection as we hear from a panel of remarkable women as they discuss the theme of the 2025 International Women’s Day: ‘Accelerate Action.’ The conversation will cover topics such as resilience, imposter syndrome, and self-confidence. This panel event is open to all and welcomes everyone. Licensed bar will be available and all tickets are seated.

Speakers include:

✦ Pam Cottman - Resilience Coach

A former Assistant Headteacher with 14 years of teaching experience and now an ICF accredited coach, Pam applies her accumulated knowledge and experience to create positive change in individuals, teams, schools and workplaces. She specialises in helping people to build a strong foundation of resilience and a toolkit to cope with change, challenge, self-doubt and stress.

✦ Becs Gardner - Champion For Women In Business And Sport.

Becs Gardner is a force to be reckoned with—a trailblazing entrepreneur, endurance athlete, and passionate advocate for women breaking barriers in business and sport.

As the founder of a thriving recruitment agency in the property sector, Becs knows first-hand the power of courage, resilience, and self-belief. After years of working in her brother’s recruitment business, she took a bold leap to forge her own path, proving that fear should never be a roadblock to success.

Beyond the boardroom, Becs is redefining leadership in cycling. As the first female Chair in High Wycombe Cycling Club’s 100-year history, she is on a mission to empower more women to take up the sport and challenge gender norms. Her leadership is paving the way for greater inclusivity, showing women that they belong in every space—on the road, in the boardroom, and beyond.

A true endurance athlete, Becs has conquered some of the world’s toughest physical challenges. In 2018, she completed ten gruelling endurance events—including an Ironman, ultra-marathons, and a 14km swim—raising £10,600 for Macmillan in honour of her late mother. But perhaps her greatest triumph came with Ironman Wales. After three years of relentless training, race cancellations, and a heart-breaking injury just weeks before the 2022 event, she finally crossed the finish line in 2023—one of only 11% of female athletes that year to do so.

As a single mother, entrepreneur, and endurance athlete, Becs embodies the spirit of resilience. Her journey is proof that no challenge is too great, and no dream is out of reach. She is deeply committed to inspiring women to chase their ambitions—whether in business, sports, or personal growth—by showing them that setbacks are simply setups for comebacks.

Becs Gardner is not just breaking barriers; she’s building a future where women everywhere rise, lead, and thrive.
