Event information
Jazz at trades' March edition will be featuring two special guests, alto saxophonist Sam Braysher alongside Guitarist Honey Boulton;
Sam Braysher moved to London aged 18 to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he was a Chartered Surveyors’ Prize winner and an Artist Fellow. He graduated with First Class Honours, and whilst studying, was a winner of the U.K. Jazz Radio Young Performers’ Award. He has played at UK venues including Ronnie Scott’s, 606 Club, Pizza Express Jazz Club, Vortex Jazz Club, Cadogan Hall, Barbican Hall, Royal Festival Hall, has released three records under his own name with his recent trio album was praised in Jazzwise as “a triumph of intelligence and sentiment”. https://sambraysher.com
Alexander ‘Honey’ Boulton specialises in swing and bebop guitar, as well as jazz banjo. After recently returning to the UK from his hometown Wellington, New Zealand, he has been busy solidifying his place in the musical landscape that is the London jazz scene. He has a large body of original works which are featured in his 3 released albums, ‘Portrait’, ‘Les Charmants’ and ‘Honey’. His recent record 'Honey Plays Boulton' was released in December 2024, with a sell out album release show at The Scolt Head.
