Event information
Boo Hewardine is one of the UK's finest singer songwriters. He was the lead singer with The Bible, has released numerous solo albums and collaborated with the likes of Eddie Reader and Brooks Williams.
Yvonne Lyon has released 10 solo albums and is one of the UK's brightest singer songwriters. She combines poignant lyrics with strong creative melodies,
In 2023 Boo and Yvonne got together to record their album 'Things Found in Books'. It contains a collection of songs written in response to a Notice Board in Culzean Castle's second hand book shop. The board contained letters, notes. photographs, old receipts, postcards displaying fragments of people's lives from long ago. Together the duo combined the imagined stories of each, with their own, creating an album full of nostalgia, beauty, hope and longing.
Boo on guitar and vocals and Yvonne on keyboards, guitar and vocals will play songs from the album and songs from their respective careers.
Support will come from SONGS OF THE FOLK, who are AT and Lauren Cason from North Carolina. They perform original American folk and blues songs that hark back to the roots of the American South as well as the 1960's artists of Greenwich village. It is Simon & Garfunkel mixed with early Dylan, with a touch of Leonard Cohen and blues fingerstyle guitar from North Carolina.
