Event information

Faith Eliott is a songwriter and visual artist. Born in Minneapolis, they moved to Scotland nearly two decades ago. Through storytelling and world-building, they illustrate intuitive landscapes populated by hagfish, Pleistocene volcanoes, cursed memes, and late-Renaissance apocryphal monsters lurking in the aisles of Asda. Sonically, Eliott grounds themself in a stripped-back, lyric-driven songwriting approach that evolves through the recording process to incorporate orchestral elements—often contributed by frequent collaborator Robyn Dawson—along with electronic textures and found sounds.
Their forthcoming album ‘dryas’ will be released on Lost Map Records on May 30th 2025. This album follows two previous releases, ‘Impossible Bodies’ (2019, OK Pal Records) and ‘Insects’ (2016, Song, by Toad Records), both of which received critical acclaim, including coverage from The List and The Scotsman, as well as national radio play on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction, and 6Music.

Gaze is Ghost is the pseudonym of Northern Irish musician Laura McGarrigle. She released her second album 'Lapis Cobalt Indigo Blue' in 2022 and is currently working on her follow-up which will be released November 2025. She lives in the East Coast of Scotland.

"Like a ghost her music is ethereal, otherworldly and, dare I say, somewhat supernatural. Her debut album Plume, released last year, is a graceful and, frankly, beautiful meditation evident of a musician operating as sculptor. Each song feels carefully and deliberately constructed, but retains a feeling of earnest and spontaneous emotion." Overblown

Hank Tree is a Glasgow based project led by Fergus MacDonald (ex- State Broadcasters), also comprising Roy Shearer (Ultras, Inspector Tapehead) and Bart Owl (Eagleowl, Broken Chanter). Hank Tree's first EP was released by Chilean label Uva Robot in 2018 and a debut LP, The Big North, was released in 2022, via Olive Grove Records. The album features songs inspired by the dramatic rise and fall of prosperity of the desert region of El Norte Grande in Chile. The band's sound is characterised by fast picked classical guitars, atmospheric ballads, distortion-heavy instrumentals and hushed vocals, often incorporating field recordings and featuring lyrics focusing on social history. They have supported artists including King Creosote, Alasdair Roberts and Gwenifer Raymond and have received airplay on BBC 6Music and BBC Scotland.
