Wasted Youth play music that is "energetic, psychedelic, prone to semi-improvised and chaotic detours...combined with a selection of melodic and memorable tunes" (Billboard, 2024). "The original Wasted Youth were arguably one of the best bands to come out of East London" (Louder Than War, 2022).
Wasted Youth play The Moonraker Nightclub in Southend on Saturday. August 16, when it's also the weekend of Rocco and Sabrina's birthdays, so expect some hi-jinks and riotous behaviour! We're keeping adv tickets down to a mere £10 (plus small booking fee) or £14 at the door. Wasted Youth will be promoting not one, but two new albums being released in April 2025. The first is 'Neo Noir'' on WY Records, a studio recorded 'debut' album by the current line-up. The second is 'Wild and...Raw' (HX/WY Records), an unreleased bunch of studio-outtakes from 1981. Both albums are fantastic and well-worthy of your hard-earned cash!
Specially invited support act for the evening is Hotel Du Globe, a five-piece post-punk band from Belgium, who released their debut album ‘Outrospection’ in October 2024. They played a short tour of the UK in 2024 and are back again in 2025, they say "We're delighted to be back to support the legendary Wasted Youth", and we're just as pleased to have them support us!
This is Wasted Youth's first ever gig in Southend, and hopefully, the first of many.
