Event information
Airport Dad are a self proclaimed 'Alt-Dad' band from Nottingham. Formed in 2022, they have been described as having 'a unique sound' which blends shoegaze and melancholic grunge, taking influence from Wolf Alice, The Pixies, and Radiohead. Since their start, they have secured spots at BBC Introducing Live, Splendour Festival, and Dot to Dot, and have also played various venues across the country including The Bodega in Nottingham and The Leadmill in Sheffield. Their debut single, 'Brighter Days,' garnered attraction when it was added to Spotify Fresh Finds UK & IE. In June 2023, they released their second single, 'I Wanna Cry,' which gained attention from BBC Radio 1, landing them a spin on Gemma Bradley's show. In September 2023, 'I Wanna Cry' was chosen to be played on Absolute Radio and the band was named as 'Self- Release Artist of the Month.' In April 2024, the band released their third single, 'Acatalepsy,' which received multiple radio plays and was chosen as track of the week by Dean Jackson.
Supporting are Rude Films, a Manchester-based alternative rock band with a sound characterised by a contrast between the ethereal and the chaotic. “They combine shoegaze and the industrial to create a totally unique and brilliant sound. Dark, foreboding and atmospheric." (Jarred Up). March 2025 will see the release of their eponymous debut album.
Opening are locals Possum Kid and Duck Jumper.
Doors at 7:30 pm. 18+ only.
