Event information
Dawn Landes is a Louisville, Kentucky-born, New York City-based singer-songwriter who’s penned original songs for TV, film, and musical theatre (ROW on Audible). Landes has toured internationally and supported Nick Lowe, Mary Chapin Carpenter and many more. Her newest album The Liberated Woman's Songbook was produced by Josh Kaufman (Bonny Light Horseman) and highlights women's activism throughout history.
She is also a sometimes-member of the band Hem, where she has lent her voice to harmony vocals, and plays glockenspiel. She has worked as an audio engineer at Stratosphere Sound in New York City and at Philip Glass' own personal recording studio. She has shared the stage with artists such as Suzanne Vega, Jose Gonzalez, Feist, The Weakerthans, Andrew Bird, Midlake, Alexi Murdoch and many others.
Opening the show will be Susy Wall whose songs are heavily influenced by songwriters such as Laura Marling and Paul Simon. Her performance style is acoustic and emphasises her vocals in a similar way to artists such as Eddi Reader and Joni Mitchell.
"Susy Wall has a voice that is divine and that sends shivers...It’s like a direct line to the soul of the listener. Her songwriting is superb and well-crafted with a sensitivity that is rare and cannot be taught. A remarkably gifted artist" (Gordon Giltrap MBE).
