Event information

After the success of our sell out events this year at The Dugout Sports Bar & Kitchen, we return for our autumn / winter season and kick things of in style and welcome back a firm favourite of Sexy Chocolate, that is dj, producer and performer, DJ Rae (House FM / Let There Be House Records).

DJ Rae is a multi talented artist; Singer, Songwriter, DJ and Producer, one of the first in her field to organically craft and navigate her own path to a successful global career. Since her first signing to Defected records Rae has gone on to achieve UK chart success, and a string of #1 chart positions across the biggest dance music platforms with her own self penned works.

Well respected in the house world with a self made career spanning over a decade, Rae’s voice has the unique quality of transcending across the genres, this combined with her prowess on the decks and skills in the studio has created a formula for longevity, with a growing profile, a name that keeps coming up in the global dance charts and conversations.

From her first outing “Cant Stop” with Kings of tomorrow” to “Take me away” with SKT, DJ Rae has stamped her sound firmly on the dance scene.
Rae’s discography is a huge soundtrack covering every corner of the dance spectrum and beyond, with solo cuts and major collaborations. The most recent being the massive track “Waiting” with the leading lady of the moment LP Giobbi and Redfield on Diplo's label Higher Ground. Getting huge support on all the key playlists globally and set to keep rising.

One of the first female artists on the scene to combine live vocals with her DJ sets in a unique way, gaining her a huge global fan base, honing in on her craft in close association with many of the true pioneers of house music, collaborating and performing alongside the likes of MK, Todd Terry, David Penn, Louie Vega, Kerri Chandler and many more over the years, with stand out sets headlining worldwide tours with Defected in the house, Pacha, Strictly Rhythm, Armada and Ministry of Sound. Major dance festivals and conferences have seen Rae combining seamless vocals throughout her DJ sets, displaying electric presence with the voice of a true powerhouse.

As a performer Rae has covered the spectrum from intimate underground house clubs to key dance events and the world's biggest arenas. Alongside her own headline shows Rae has toured for the last 4 years with the hugely successful Hacienda classical as lead vocalist, taking front stage at some of the world's most iconic stages, Pyramid stage at Glastonbury, Royal Albert Hall, London, Isle of Wight festival and Dubai Opera house.

The artist, beginning her career as “RAE” has been releasing an array of club hits across all the key dance labels for over a decade, with underground and commercial success. From gaining early support from the hugely influential Giles Peterson, with her first release on Defected, “Can't Stop” alongside house legend Kings of tomorrow, to recognition from underground royalty, such as Solomun and Tale Of Us, with the recently reworked anthem “Hide U” with Sandy Rivera.

With a strong fan base in the house community Rae remains loyal in her contribution, whilst her dynamique edge allows her to explore creative diversity with collaborations such as “Ghost” with drum and bass legend Andy C out on Ram records, championed by Danny Howard on BBC radio1 as his hottest record, also Clara Ampho’s record of the week and Rene la Vice’s rinse out track. “Heartbeat” is Rae’s second collaboration with D&B act Delta heavy, and “Fantasy” alongside Jamie Roy & Huxley is a fresh interpretation of the 90’s rave anthem on Ultra records, both records have gained huge momentum continuing Rae’s rise as an artist in demand.

Rae’s recent collaborations with grammy winning producer David Morales “The Feels” and “Come undone” from David's forthcoming album on his own label Diridum, and “Something I'm going through” on Tinted records have both made a huge impact, with more releases to follow. “Don't wanna fall in love” with house GOD, Todd Terry continues the tapestry of quality material Rae has become known for in her career, now spanning over a decade.

“Take me away” alongside DJ SKT was a massive hit across the dance world, snapped up by Defected records and becoming a huge signing for Atlantic records, hitting the top 20 official UK charts and achieving silver record sales.

Bridging the commercial hits with her soulful integrity, Rae has stayed close to her roots, the stunning record “No Limits” alongside Danism + Train signed to NYC’s queen of house Gladys Pizarro's label; Launch entertainment was tipped as a future house classic, going straight in at #1 across the house charts, with Kings of house, Louie Vega, Todd Terry and many more showing continued support, earning Rae undeniable plaudits.

The Danny Krivit edit of “No Limits” has given the record a 2021 rebirth, proving the song's longevity and ongoing appeal, launching the re-titled collective, Danism, Train + DJ Rae as the DTR Project, the group have delivered Best days and Shadows, both credible stand out cuts, with remixes from house music's most sort after names, Harry Romero, Tedd Patterson, and rising producer Alan Dixon.

Many career highlights and stand out releases have paved the way for Rae’s continued success. The 2019 rework of “Someday” with Just Us & Eddy got seal of approval from Pete Tong & The Blessed Madonna, and In 2020 Rae had several successful releases on the mighty Toolroom records, with “Free to love you” alongside Radio 1’s Monki hitting over a million streams, then huge collaborations with ‘Breathe” alongside Chicago veteran Gene Farris and German techno duo Raumakustik, and “How many times” with Toolrooms leading lady Maxinne.

“Change” alongside Martin Badder signed to rising UK label Let There Be House crossed the genres from mainstream radio with first plays from Mista Jam, to the most credible soulful selectors, charting at #1 on The Music week club cuts charts, and marking another #1 on the Traxsource chart with the celebrated remix from DJ Spen & Reelsoul.
Rae has maintained her solo productions since her early remixes back on Defected records. “The Journey” signed to DJ Spen’s Quantize recordings, gained specialist support at radio and much love from the soulful fans, “Reach” on Let there be house is a beautiful record steeped in nostalgia, with a stunning classic remix from long time collaborator Sandy Rivera.

Further credible outings such as “Feel me” alongside Del 30 on Ultra records, “Control” with Maxinne on Knee deep in sound, “Devotion” with The Deepshakerz on Club Sweat, “Feel for you” with GW Harrisson on Abode records and Best Days alongside Danism + Train on SoSure music, continue a consistent stream of quality in Rae’s release schedule.
Established as a live radio broadcaster with her own weekly show “The Rated takeover” every Friday on London's longest standing house music station House FM, Rae has been dedicated to building on her hometown fan base during the pandemic. Her live shows have gone from strength to strength, with Rae proving to be a natural broadcaster with genuine warmth and vast musical knowledge, as a house music tastemaker.

As a diverse songwriter, Rae has worked on many hugely successful collaborations across the genres such as “Healing” and “Under the water” with Camden Cox on Perfect Havoc
and Defected’s new label D4D4ance. Features such as “Feel my Love” with Jack Wins on Tiesto’s label Musical Freedom, “You & Me'' with Ryan Blythe on New State, “Collide” with Delta Heavy on Ram records, “Shelter” with Nutone on Hospital records, and “Harmony” with Adam F & Kokiri on Sony have all clocked up major plays on global radio and spotify.
