Bristol Based Joe Bradford is becoming one of the staple members of the Southwest Jazz scene and one of the leading Jazz Trombonists in the region. Coming from the JJ Johnson lineage, he has a warm and full tone, with deep understanding of the bebop idiom and a highly creative approach to improvisation. After studying at the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz (USA), Joe has set his feet firmly in the bebop/hard bop tradition and has great command of this style. Here, he studied with greats such as Steve Davis, Rene McLean, Steve Turre, etc., giving him a great appreciation in the jazz tradition and history, all of which is reflected in his playing. Joe Is Joined by Neil Burns on Guitar , Jim Rintoul an Exeter bass player who has spent the past year in Japan and was regularly performing in the jazz clubs of Tokyo, Its great to have Jim back here at Jazz on the Green and with Dennis harris on drums this will be a swinging’ gig!
