Mullen’s mellow, soulful guitar and his legendary fluency have gained him many accolades, including Best Guitar in the British Jazz Awards, 2000. Set perfectly against the drums of Matt Skelton and organ playing of Mike Gorman, the band has a subtle tonal variety, which regularly builds up to a bubbling excitement. The presence of sax legend Stan Sulzmann is a great bonus; he can be soft and sinuous or forthright as the mood dictates.
