Event information
Live stand-up comedy in Stockport’s historic market place! This month:
Hayley Ellis is a comedian at the top of her game right now, having recently won the Best MC award at this year’s Comic’s Comic Awards. Much in demand on the national club circuit, she's also been a regular contributor to ’Russell Howard’s Good News‘ and a writer for ‘8 out of 10 Cats’. She has appeared on MTV’s ‘Why aye love Geordie Shore’ and can also sometimes be heard on Absolute Radio and her sketches and jokes have appeared on Newsjack on BBC Radio 4. Somehow, in between all that, she's also found the time to appear as tour support for Sarah Millican and Jason Manford.
“Brilliantly funny and a joy to watch” – Sarah Millican
“A proper comic” – Jason Manford
----------
Aaron Wood has hit the ground running since starting out, performing as tour support for a host of top comedians including Tom Stade, Carl Hutchinson and Ignacio Lopez. His stand up and podcast clips have amassed over 100 million views online and he’s described as ‘talent way beyond his time on the circuit’ for his ability to combine natural stage presence with original, relatable material.
“Absolutely brilliant” - Tim Vine
“A very big future in this business” - Tom Stade
----------
Paul Campbell is trying to navigate remain positive as a Coronation Street obsessed 38 year old still living at home with his mum. Described as ‘extremely funny while being highly unrelatable and highly relatable, all at the same time’, with a quirky stage presence and spectacular stories of everyday failure,
“A delightful ball of whimsical oddity. His journeys into life’s frustrations are both hilarious and fascinatingly engaging” – Nodding Dog Comedy
----------
Danny Sutcliffe is your compère for the evening. Seen most recently on the big screen in the film ‘Mr Doom: Behind The 8-Ball’ – now available on all good streaming services – he's also a thoroughly lovely fella who lists standing on sheds and flipping tables among his many anti-social hobbies.
“Dazzles with his mix of surreal and observational gags. A manic, unruly energy belies a great writing talent” – The Skinny
