Arab. Muslim. Brummy. “Deliciously funny” (Guardian) Hasan Al-Habib's Iraqi parents left Baghdad for the land of opportunity (southern Birmingham).
DTTW(M) was borne of his noughties childhood, defined by a Gulf war 3000 miles away. It’s the story of a teacher accusing his family of planning 9/11, his Dad claiming “Shakespeare was Arab” and why Saddam Hussein would have loved Drayton Manor.
50% of the show’s proceeds will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians (over £2000 raised so far) .
“Al-Habib will be famous.” Rolling Stone
“A man of a thousand voices” Rob Beckett
“Edgy and silly in exactly the right balance” Sara Pascoe
