Event information
All types of folk played by queer performers. Traditional, contemporary, & folk-punky country. 3 wonderful live bands playing acoustic tunes at one of Edinburgh's best real local live music venues. Get down to the Depot to feed your soul.
Housekind
Housekind are Shea Martin and Cal Younger, an emerging folk duo based in the South of Scotland. Expect soaring melodies and intricate percussion with words of collaboration, reflection and collision, as they balance the contemporary and traditional in their unique sound. Fans of Lisa O'Neill , Lankum and Anohni should love this.
Chanterelle
Chanterelle are an exciting new folk band based in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Unashamedly queer in both membership and material, the band’s genesis comes from its members, Toni, Masha and Johanna, meeting at a trans fundraising concert. After discovering a shared love of performing traditional folk music, the trio has been performing in Edinburgh and Glasgow ever since, offering an exciting mix of reimagined traditional songs, original material and interpretations of work by some of their favourite contemporary performers.
