We are proud to present Andres Roots , one of the finest slide players around, Tim Aves and his superb repertoire of classic blues tunes and Richard Townend one of the country's leading songwriters in an evening of acoustic raw blues.


Andres Roots

A guitarist/songwriter whose recordings have received airplay on five continents and who has toured throughout Europe and in the USA, Andres Roots (his real name!) has also composed music for theatre, films and TV -- while his Golden Disc-earning 2016 LP "Roots Music" remains the only blues album ever to top the sales charts in the Baltics. Born in Tallinn, Estonia in 1976, Roots has been living in Tartu since 1995, even serving as an official Ambassador for that Southern Estonian town during its 2024 tenure as the European Capital of Culture. His current album "Royal Spa Blues -- Live from Temperance" was recorded in Royal Leamington Spa in England in July 2024, right after performing at the 40th anniversary edition of the Birmingham Jazz & Blues Festival and the award-winning Upton Blues Festival. Launched with a string of dates in Wales and England in March 2025, it was voted 'Album Pick of the Month' by the UK's Independent Blues Broadcasters Association and reached #2 in the IBBA monthly airplay chart for February.

RICHARD TOWNEND

“Richard Townend is a singer songwriter guitarist with 16 critically acclaimed albums to his name. You may have heard of his band The Mighty Boss Cats. He started as a professional musician directly from Leeds college of music playing for variety acts such as Ronnie Corbett, Dana, The Platters and Tony Christie to name a few. He stopped playing for 20 or so years and then had an epiphany at a jam session in 2008, where he started playing again. His first album was released 2011 and he has written over 300 songs since that time. He has been nominated for numerous awards for his songs and albums and is one of the most prolific writers on the scene. He plays nationally and internationally (Album 12 recorded live in Moscow) and he has a Dire Straits, JJ Cale, Chris Rea Vibe. He has a wonderful touch with the guitar and his lyricism comes together to provide a marvellous blend of modern contemporary Americana music.
