Hailing from Egypt, Uzbekistan, the UK and US and united in their obsession with the groove, Tashkezar craft their Baladi Funk sound from an array of musical influences: vintage Egyptian Pop, Anatolian Rock, Balkan Folk, Afrobeat and more.

One of the most exciting acts rising on the UK global music scene right now, the band blend psych guitars with funk-driven basslines, punchy horns, anthemic synth and euphoric Arabic vocals, creating an electrifying and deeply danceable sound. Tonight's high-energy live set celebrates the release of 'Reesha', the first single from their upcoming album El Donya Wahm, which explores the fine line between illusion and reality and the myriad ways we delude ourselves in order to survive an increasingly weird world.

In support is Spanner Jazz Punks leader Dan Spanner! Spanner is a veteran saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist with deep roots in the UK's underground music scene. A dynamic performer and composer, he currently leads multiple projects including the explosive Spanner Big Band and the genre-blending Dan Spanner Trio. His solo project draws from these larger ensembles while also carving out a space for more intimate, experimental exploration. Using a saxophone routed through a multi-effects pedal board, Dan builds immersive soundscapes and grooves in real time — improvising melodies, singing, and reciting poetry and spoken word. His solo sets are equal parts musical performance, sonic storytelling, and boundary-pushing expression.
