Two book launches for the cost of one!
We're excited to host the launch of Tenebrous Texts authors Steven Davis 'Hurnungaz Dissever me Never' and Laura Liptrot 'The Green Boy'
Hurnungaz Dissever me Never:
It is a time of old gods, of new beliefs and new restrictions on living. Sherewode stretches nearly from coast to coast, with tendrils running all the way to Kernow, Alba and Wales.
Everywhere Saxons and the old Ænglish are being crushed under the cruel bootheel of the Normans. Thousands of years of history is being stolen, plundered, sold off; belief in the forest gods such as Cernunnos is failing, being discredited, being outlawed. And when Cernunnos himself is slaughtered by Norse gods, the people of Sherewode find themselves all alone.
In the heart of Sherewode, the Hooded stand defiant.
A storytelling troupe travels through Sherewode, recounting the tales of the Hooded and tales of Mother Hode. Whilst their tales are finding plenty of people to hear them, their activities have been uncovered by the Sheriff and other forces. The Sheriff’s position, even his very life, is under threat from the King: destroy the Hooded – or else.
But the Forest is awaking and more is at work than just the Hooded and the storytellers – old gods walk freely and myths come to life as everything converges – but who will survive?
The Green Boy:
Adam Arlecchino has grown up and changed his name to Shadow. A seasoned time-and-space traveller, there are still things he is naive about, including the power of a wicked goblin imprisoned in a tree in Harroway.
Recalling to mind his fantastic adventures and amazing discoveries about what it is to be a man and a hero, this story totally encapsulates the most frightening elements of growing up. Not all of us can recall encounters with poisoned witches, a meeting, on a prison planet was a possible future of ourselves and battles with monsters turning people to ice, but we can all relate to the uncertainty of youth.
Will Shadow be consumed by the goblin’s magic? Or will be he tumble out of the story as more than just a green young boy?
