Event information

We're truly delighted to welcome Dr Jo Blake, Northampton's most celebrated storyteller, always creative, always thought-provoking, and her musician partner Fergie to bring a brand new show, "Even Above the Gods."
Myths speak of divine beings who oversee and apportion to each human their FATE - the particular destiny we are meant to fulfil in this lifetime. According to the stories, even the Gods are bound by these laws. But what happens if we don’t like the fate we are allotted? What about our own agency to choose? Are the Fates always in charge? What about all those websites about ‘manifestation’!?
Join us this evening to hear stories of Fate being woven, tempted, rejected, and changed to see if we can find any answers to these questions...

Those lucky enough to see Jo and Fergie presenting a preview of a couple of these stories at "Tales Tattled and Told" recently will share our confidence it'll be a night of memorable storytelling combined with subtle and evocative music, with depth, humour, and great atmosphere.

Jo was one of those whose wise advice was invaluable when we formed Storytelling of the Feast of Fools, and she came and gave us a story of hers very early on, so it's only fitting that we celebrate our tenth anniversary year by inviting her to bring us her new work, and we'll be delighted both to welcome her again and her partner Fergie, multi-instrumental musician and performer.
All this in the beautiful surroundings of the Quaker Meeting House, the friendly warm atmosphere of the Feast of Fools along with the famed excellent home-baked cakes, and the superior F.o.F raffle.
