Special Father's Day outing! We are honoured to have Seaming coming to play for us - with her family - this is a MATINEE SHOW - 4pm start. With husband Leon Michener on keyboards, son Max on drums and daughter Xen on backing vocals, making for a performance full of uncanny synergy and heart.
Whatever strange thing Seaming might be, the experience is always thrilling The Quietus
Leon Michener will also perform solo with his Klavikon system, a combination of piano, amplification, found objects, feedback and analogue processing, that allows him to deliver cascading batteries of percussion, sub-basses and dark abstract soundscapes.
Seaming To is a composer, vocalist, multi instrumentalist and producer.
She has performed and recorded with the likes of Robert Wyatt, The Herbaliser, Leila (Warp records), The Cinematic Orchestra, Matthew Bourne and Mayming, an experimental duo with cellist and previous Weirdshire performer Semay Wu.
She has also performed and released albums with supergroups Homelife (Ninja Tune) and Graham Massey’s Toolshed. She has appeared on BBC Radio (Radio 3's Mixing It/LateJunction/Radio 1's Breezeblock show/6 Music) and performed and toured the UK, Europe and the Far East.
“One of the most captivating, unclassifiable performers on the scene.” The Financial Times
“ An astonishing vocalist of haunting emotional power” - The Guardian
“Seaming’s vocal styling is impressively kaleidoscopic; haunting at times, vulnerable at others offering a desolate calm... a moving, virtuoso conversion.” - Clash
