Terry Hiscock, Doug Morter and Roger Trevitt first went on the road together as Hunter Muskett back in 1970, touring continuously in the UK and on the continent for the next three years. They released two excellent albums, ‘Every Time You Move’ and ‘Hunter Muskett’ but following the demise of their record label, the band finally called it a day in mid-74 returning from the continent to fire their last shot at The Brunswick in Preston.
In 2010, following the re-release of ‘Every Time You Move’ the Musketteers decided to meet up again and a ‘one-off’ performance was arranged at The Aspinall Arms near Clitheroe. This has led to new dates, new songs and a new album, ‘That Was Then, This Is Now ‘, in 2013. The band has toured continuously since then and, with more new songs entering the set, another album, ‘Unafraid and Sober’, was released in early 2017 to critical acclaim.
Their trademark sound, lush vocal harmonies and superb musicianship, especially the blend of acoustic and electric guitars, is all there; as well as being extremely talented players these gentlemen know how to write a song. It is truly remarkable that a band that split up in 1974 can get back together after forty years and produce new music of such high quality and which sounds so fresh and relevant to today.
