Event information
We’re super happy to welcome back Crow Black Chicken.
This powerhouse trio blends elements of folk and hard rock with the blues-rock stylings of bands like Gov’t Mule, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Led Zeppelin. The band was formed in 2009 in Cork City when lead singer Christy O’Hanlon met the rhythm section: Stephen McGrath (bass) and Gev Barrett (drums). The band immediately gelled and went on to perform on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury in 2011.
They released their first raw blues rock 'n' roll album in 2012, produced by Philip Magee, which was praised by both Classic Rock Magazine and AllMusic.com.
In 2015, the band released their first live album, Deep South, which was voted one of the top five live albums of the year by Classic Rock Blues. In 2016, Crow Black Chicken opened for ZZ Top at the Marquee in Cork, bringing them face-to-face with their Texan counterparts—an apt match, given the frequent comparisons.
Always determined to carve out a sound of their own, the band continues to tour across Europe and will release their fourth studio album, Ghost Dance, in 2025.
“These guys do the nasty blues like the devil himself was hurting and rock like they’ll skate come judgement day”
Ray Wylie Hubbard
“CBC could save rock and roll”
Alvin Youngblood Hart
“Maybe it’s the luck of the Irish or maybe it’s these boys’ immense talent, but
they’ve managed to find a sound that’s all their own. In a world of cliché blues
songs, these lads take what they want and leave the rest far behind.”
