Event information
Cally Beaton “Namaste Motherf*ckers”
As seen on QI, Live at the Apollo, The Apprentice: You're Fired, Pointless Celebrities, Richard Osman's House of Games, Countdown Dictionary Corner and many more, Cally brings a quick-witted, unexpected and unapologetic insight into life in midlife. Combining Cally’s comedic and storytelling prowess with extracts from her provocative, stereotype-busting book of the same name. A funny show about a deadly serious subject and a celebration of and for the female of the species. Invisible no more.
‘Spins tales like Aisling Bea, has the hair and strength of Pippi Longstocking, and the punk edge of Debbie Harry’ – Sally Phillips
‘Properly funny’ – Sandi Toksvig
‘Cally is a comedy queen – fiery, intelligent and totally original’ – Sara Pascoe

Simon Evans "Staring at the Sun"
An odd title perhaps for a show taking place in Edinburgh, let alone in The Caves. But those familiar with Plato will understand the reference, as will those familiar with Donald J Trump. Simon hits 60 this year, and perhaps more significantly his daughter hits 21 and his son 18. He no longer needs to think of the children; his time is short, the world is in a mess and with no more shackles on his instinct, he'll give you the raw, unlubricated truth.
29 years since his first Edinburgh show. Seen on Live at the Apollo twice and Christmas University Challenge also twice! 6 series of Simon Evans Goes To Market on BBC Radio 4
