Trombonist, composer and bandleader Dave Keech brings a stellar line-up to the 100 Club for the full live launch of Tokyo - a five-track EP drawing on jazz, street funk, soul, and the raw poetry of the city.
Inspired by time spent in Japan, the record channels everything from the experimental edge of Mingus to the bold urbanism of Eduardo Paolozzi - all refracted through a lens of deep soul, improvisation, and groove.
Lead single Americanology is a love letter to the dancefloor - where Northern Soul meets future funk. Blood, out this summer, is its darker sibling: a dispatch from the street - grittier, heavier, and more defiant. The full EP completes the arc with sweeping instrumental storytelling and sharp ensemble interplay.
With a killer live band featuring some of the UK’s most progressive musicians, this one-night-only launch promises deep energy, genre-blurring style, and creative fire.
