• Mistrusted 10:30-11:00pm
Since their inception in 2014 Mistrusted have carved out a scathing, sardonic yet lively and varied trail of indie punk rock.
Their first album 2019’s “From The Shadows” set the tone from the get-go; taut arrangements, aggressive instrumentation and observational vérité lyricism that could sometimes be on the political side.
The band then released an in between albums five track EP entitled “Play This Out” which collected newly recorded tracks and concluded with a DJ remix of an angry new track, “Polemic” which in some ways pointed the way forward.
Album number two “Unnatural” was released at the start of 2022 and displayed a more melodic accessible side to the group alongside the brutal bluster they had now been honing for several years.
May 2025 augers the release of Mistrusted’s third long player, the dark oftentimes seemingly berserk “Torres Abren Fuego”.
This album see’s the band largely leaving any vestigial traces of Indie and pop behind whilst heading for a more post hardcore/post grunge sound influenced at its heart by a love and need to align itself with a more direct punk rock stance.
The tempos speed up, the time signatures get stranger, the subject matter gets even more exploratory..
Always at it’s heart an experimental group of people inclined to confound expectation; with Torres Abren Fuego, Mistrusted have completely shaken off any shackles of influence and minted a singular and ferocious yet literate strain of punk rock in the process.

• OF KINGS AND CAPTAINS 11:10-11:40pm
Of Kings and Captains have been getting no where for fourteen years.
We thought that we cracked it in 2013 when we landed a national tour with Bon Jovi. Playing to a total of two-hundred-thousand people across stadiums in Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Sunderland and Glasgow. Got our single Takes All Night played across the Bauer Radio network (Absolute Radio, Planet Rock, Kerrang!) and a return gig to Glasgow for a a sold out headline show at the prestigious King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut.
Then we thought we might be on the right tracks in 2017, with our EP Give ‘Em Hell Son. It was produced by long time collaborator Gavin Monaghan (The Sherlocks, The Twang, The Editors), mastered by Sony Music legend David Mitson (Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones) and, all involved told us ‘this is gonna be the one’. All it did was chart at number eight on the iTunes Rock chart.
Maybe our latest EP, Emerald City Blues will be the one. That was produced by Romesh Dodangoda at Longwave Studios, who’s worked with bands like Motörhead, Bring Me the Horizon, Funeral For a Friend, Kids in Glass Houses (they also played with us on the Bon Jovi Tour) and Bullet for my Valentine. And even if it’s not, we had a blast making it and are hard at work writing more songs to hit back with.
Of Kings and Captains have been going no where for fourteen years. Cheers to the next fourteen.
