A centuries-old Dartmoor church, lit by candles
A single golden harp
One night only: Saturday, 1st November, 2025
A musical journey aligned with the quiet spirit of the season, offering a requiem for the summer’s end, and a blessing on the winter to come.
“This transcendent harpist whose playing brought us so much joy.”
- Sam McCready, Professor of Theatre, University of Maryland
“She is a great artist and consummate performer. She can draw more tone colours out of the instrument than any other harpist living in the world today.”
- David Watkins, Professor of Harp, Guildhall School of Music
The evening’s programme weaves together evocative works from across the centuries, chosen for their seasonal resonance, and includes the première of a new work by Elizabeth-Jane Baldry, inspired by the mythic landscape of Dartmoor.
Elizabeth-Jane Baldry is a storyteller of sound, known for conjuring uplifting performances that reach beyond the concert hall and into the imagination. Her uniquely resonant playing has captivated audiences for over thirty years, and her artistry is steeped in her deep love of the harp and her ability to craft a strong connection with her audiences.
The archaic word Allhallowtide comes from the Middle English words ‘halowen’ (meaning holy) and ‘tid’ (meaning time).
