THE ATTIC are delighted to announce a very special gig with the sensational English/Colombian singer-songwriter Vanessa Forero & her band live in Leeds at the newly relocated venue.

The 4-piece will be touring the UK this month to celebrate the release of Forero's debut album: DAYS BEFORE, bringing you a warming evening of uplifting soul/folk with a touch of old-school gospel, full harmonies, big melodies & stories from her 'Days Before' growing up in a mega-church to then carving her own path, leading her up a Colombian jungle mountain, where she built her home & has lived for seven years (recently featured on Ben Fogles: New Live In The Wild!)

"This is my shameless record," says Forero, a folk artist finally making her peace with the roof-raising gospel & passionate soul she was raised amongst. Come & hear Forero's new collection of full-coloured Folksoul songs, with support from her favourite local artists & a merch table full of Colombian mountain gifts.

ARTIST BIO

English/Colombian Vanessa Forero has been composing since childhood & professionally since 2004 - writing for film & TV, winning best score for sci-fi movie ABE, had music broadcast on major channels & cinema screens worldwide, worked with the Liverpool Philharmonic & had music picked up by Universal Music.

Since the scoring industry took a turn, Forero decided to make a shift to live music, where she found community in musicianship and audience, and where she explored her own voice and scored her own whimsical life. She has written, played & produced every one of her own records so far & toured the US, Colombia and completed two sell-out tours in the UK last year and one on the way.

Forero was recently featured on Ben Fogles: New Lives In The Wild, where we got to see her self-built home in the mountains of Colombia. She’s also co-author of the bestselling book written about her mother: "The Girl With No Name", which became National Geographic documentary: "Woman Raised By Monkeys", for which Forero scored part of the soundtrack.

With a sequel book, a movie, a new cabin in the mountains to build, and new albums in the making, Vanessa is one to watch for!
