Ping Pong Disco – I Need A Drink’s pounding teutonic beats channel Front 242 or Nitzer Ebb, while telsewhere PPD recall early Kasabian, Happy Mondays and Bowie’s funkier periods. Meanwhile, ‘Scratcher’s nifty sounds and samples have a Sleafords Mods-do-hip-hop vibe and ’Super Vegetable’ recalls John Lydon’s collaboration with Leftfield… add to all this some Butthole Surfers style bonkers vocal treatments and a jaw dropping mash up of Bowie’s The Laughing Gnome and the Bee Gees You Should Be Dancing, and you know you’re in the presence of genius!
