Event information

Shameless nature worship, exquisite dissections of desire, a waitress at the end of the world, Lorna Rose’s second collection 'All the Colour's of the Night', published by Tenebrous Texts, has her trademark candid style, luminous explorations of the connections between the earthly and the spiritual and homage’s to the artists who have continued to inspire her. Medieval she-wolves, lonely hotel rooms full of ghosts, a cacophony of birds, all held together by delicate stands of mycelium as transcendence grows out of the darkness.

Steven C. Davis describes themselves as a word witch. They have created the ‘Sælvatici’ [Robin Hood myth cycle in a folk-horror / dark Pagan style] and the ‘Less than Human’ [an examination of society through the medium of genetically-based shape shifters] worlds and regularly create and release multi-media content for both. They are the Creative Director of Tenebrous Texts and one half of ‘Poetic Malevolence’ a gothic-influenced performance poetry duo, with Laura Jane Round. They are also a storyteller, a performance poet, a publisher, a playwright, a presenter, an artist, a master of ceremonies, one of an alternative artistic collective called ‘the fringe dwellers’ and are occasionally considered driven. They will be reading from their debut poetry collection 'Freshly dipped'.

Lorna's first collection 'Caterpillar Soup', published by Verve Poetry Press, charts five periods of intense transformation. As a poet she has also toured with Apples and Snakes, performed at Glastonbury and created three autobiographical one woman spoken word shows. She is also an aspiring novelist and her debut novel, 'Hearth-A Tale of Hestia and Dionysus', the first in a trilogy of novels about the Greek god of wine and chaos and the women in his life, is out with Tenebrous Texts later on this year.
