Event information
I count myself one of the very lucky people to know this beautiful artist both personally and professionally having worked with her onstage and shared many a glass of wine off it. Ladies and Gents. The gorgeous and outrageously talented Anoushka Lucas.
Anoushka is one of those rare talents. An artist who defies genres and slips effortlessly between many of them, a true jazz soul with the most stunning stories that sit inside her songs. She is truly one of a kind. A singer songwriter, an actor and a playwright to boot. The list of awards she has been nominated for and won grows and grows. We are very lucky to have her come play the August Tipi Session! Its going to be a beautiful send off to the summer ;-)

- Theatre -
Anoushka began her career in theatre as a composer/songwriter. Her first score was for The Ballad of Klook and Vinette, a chamber musical with a book by Ché Walker. The show opened at London’s Park Theatre in 2014. Ché and Anoushka then went on to write The Etienne Sisters, which premiered at Theatre Royal Stratford East in 2015. Anoushka has since composed the score for Jess Butcher’s award winning play Sparks, which went on to win Best Musical of the Fringe at the Edinburgh Festival in 2018, and was adapted for BBC Radio 4.
As an actor, Anoushka first appeared as Mary Magdalene in the Olivier-Award winning revival of Jesus Christ Superstar (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, 2016). Anoushka has gone on to play a number of lead roles in plays and musicals, including Katherine of France to Kit Harington’s Henry V at the Donmar Warehouse, and Elisabeth Proctor in Anthony Lau’s acclaimed Sheffield Theatre revival of The Crucible.
Anoushka’s portrayal of Laurey William’s in the 2019 Daniel Fish adaptation of Oklahoma! (Young Vic/West End) saw her nominated for an Olivier Award.
Anoushka wrote her debut play Elephant across the pandemic. It premiered at The Bush Theatre in Autumn 2022. Following a sold-out run in the studio space, Elephant returned to the main house at the Bush Theatre in 2023.
Anoushka is currently developing a new musical under commission with Kindred Partners, and developing a separate project on attachment to the National Theatre.
