Event information
An evening with renowned folk singer Judy Dunlop and a selection of her musical chums, namely
- mellifluous Anglo-Scots duo Poke O'Swedgers
- singer-songwriter Adrian Hall
- ace violinist and guitarist Nigel Corbett
Judy herself should need little introduction to Chesterfield-based music aficionados. She was a member of the Albion Band in the early-1990s and has remained one of traditional and contemporary British folk music's top vocalists. Her debut solo album, 'Sway With Me', paired her with Ashley Hutching and included guests Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick. Subsequent recordings, an album of lullabies, 'My Arms Are A Cradle' and 'I Want Something', with guitarist Jon Scaife of American acoustic group, Gypsy Reel. Dunlop collaborated with composer, performer Steve Marsh in the late-1980s as well as numerous guestings with Ashley Hutchings & Mick Ryan projects and not forgetting The Lark Rise Band.
Nigel Corbett is an accomplished violin player and guitarist and regularly accompanies Judy Dunlop as an instrumentalist. He often performs with Judy and John Scaife as "Rare Occasion", and also with Lester Simpson as "Quay of Sea". Nigel has accompanied Judy at Libby's Walled Garden previously and played a big part in making it a warm and humour-filled evening. Welcome back, Nigel!
"Poke O’Swedgers" is also a Scots dialect phrase for "a bag of sweets". In this case, the bag contains singer Kev and guitarist Dave - a simple concept dedicated to bringing you tasty harmony, original songs and delicious melodies. They have released a couple of albums on the Trousers! label – "Govanhill Moonshine" in 2019 and "Geneva’s Shore" in 2021. The songs deal with the weirder aspects of Glasgow nightlife, the philanderings of Lord Byron, the care of domestic plants, wandering the Cuckoo Way and the odd smattering of … lurv.

Adrian Hall has played in progressive rock & classic rock bands Gehenna & 3 Legged Cat before writing songs for acoustic bands Old Pekuliar & Ar Faoued.
He is lucky to live on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak which continues to provide stories & inspiration for songs. You can hear his two albums "Kith and Kin" and "Time and Tide" at
